Microneedling 101

Microneedling is a highly effective anti-ageing treatment that involves tiny micro-punctures created by pricking the skin with super-fine, sterile needles. This procedure is proven to stimulate the skin's natural healing process, which encourages cell turnover and boosts collagen production.

Micro-needling is excellent for treating acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, deep wrinkles, stretch marks, loose, sagging skin and hair loss.

What to expect from your microneedling treatment with Face First.

The treatment will begin with a deep cleanse and exfoliation. Removing the dead skin cells will help prepare the skin for treatment. After prepping the skin, a topical numbing cream is applied to minimize discomfort during the procedure. One of our trained skin care professionals will select the medical-grade serum best suited to your individual skin type and concerns. The serum will help glide each pass of the microneedling device across the treated area and allows the potent active ingredients to penetrate deeper into the skin. Minimal pinpoint bleeding, redness and inflammation of the treated area are harmless side effects that may occur during a microneedling treatment. The redness will gradually subside over the next 72 hours. However, it is important to keep in mind that everyone heals differently and that downtime will vary for each person.

Adding Microcurrent to your microneedling treatment can reduce downtime by more than half by reducing redness and inflammation in the skin. To learn more about the microcurrent treatment, click here.
